This is a five-part Lesson wherein Student(s) will learn about the core contents of the Seven Biblical Feasts; lunisolar calendar basics (months, new moon, intercalation, Metonic cycle) and the role of the sun and moon as “signs” in Genesis. We will cover the Second Temple calendrical diversity, observational vs. calculated vs. priestly solar, and practical implications for festival timing. This Lesson is designed to help understand the why behind the observance of Yahweh’s Feast Days and Festivals. Students will also be weighing the evidence of various cosmologies while looking at the argumentation from all sides.
 
The interdisciplinary learning style of this Lesson bridges religious studies, history of scientific documentation and basic astronomy. Students will be introduced to historical empathy, thus helping them to see how ancient communities experienced time and ritual as it applied to the worship of The Creator. The skill of critical thinking will encourages evaluation of challenging calendar systems and the evidence used to support each of them. The practical skills used in this Lesson will help to builds competence in reading primary texts, constructing simple lunisolar calendars, and interpreting observational data (moon phases, seasonal markers, etc.). This Lesson is the door opener for parents, guardians, and Students who have not read the accounts written by Enoch about the movements of the sun, moon and luminaries in the heavens.
