My Students are age 8 and older, who have homeschool or self-taught curriculums, and may include Students with: special abilities, special needs, accelerated IEPs and adult learners. All seeking Scripturally sound educational Lessons in formats that shape academic excellence and unrestricted personal achievement.

Are These Lessons for You and/or  Your Student?

Imagine if you would, an educator gathering information about the impact his instruction is having on both student knowledge and student spiritual growth over the course of three decades. Now imagine taking that important data, injecting decades of business ownership, earning several degrees, and measuring the results to develop an instructional best-practices approach for a select group of Students. This beneficial format is: 1) easy to follow, 2) gets maximum results, and 3) has Messianic foundations and presentation.

The finished product is Messianic Supplemental HomeSchool Resource, and that educator is me, Prof. Jay Thomas Fox, BA., BS., MA., MS., PNI. (see my Bio Page). I have applied many years of Bible study, a lifetime of lessons, higher education success, years of leading and teaching on a myriad of subjects, and now making those tested results available for improved Student outcomes.

This resulted in an off-line academic and faith-based educational product to complement and supplement the ongoing education you and/or your Student use currently. Students might: (a) be seeking additional or advanced education in a certain field of study, (b) be struggling in public or private school seeking tutoring, (c) want to try my Lessons at home for the first time, (d) is home-schooled and seeking exceptional courses not taught by others, (e) have a certain need to improve in a particular subject or skill set, or (f) have a learning, cognitive or physical disability requiring a zero-stress way to approach learning. All good reasons to explore Messianic Supplemental HomeSchool Resource and the initial Twelve Lessons offered.

There are twelve more in the que, and twelve more in production to be released for publication and purchase soon. This is a four-part Lesson:

Part 1. Create Noteboard. Students will create several Noteboards, fashion a system of abbreviations and symbols, adapt the Topic-Audience-Position (T.A.P.) method, learn the importance on gathering good information and organization, the art of note-making, and learn how to take notes from a book chapter.

Part 2. Methods of note taking from lectures, presentation of book chapter summary, discovering the antagonist and the protagonist in stories, how to take notes while watching a movie, creating a “Rockin Study Space,” and taking notes from radio or podcast.

Part 3. Students will review notes from lecture and video, learn how to take notes while doing natural observation, and look at websites and more on creating a “Rockin Study Space.

Part 4. Students will learn how to take notes from journals and articles, tips on memory retention, how to do in-text citations, and close with creating a bibliography.

These Lessons are for middle school youth, adolescents and adult Students; some with advanced minds, some with advanced learning abilities, some with special needs, some with Autism, some with learning challenges such Dyspraxia or mild TBI and Students in need of added attention in isolated fields, such as reading, writing, communication, study of the human body, Bible theology and faith or reducing stress.  All are good reasons to explore the first 12 LESSONS offered now, with more in the que, and more in production to be released soon.

IS DISTANCE LEARNING
A RISK TO STUDENTS?

In his book, The Soul of Cyberspace: How New Technology Is Changing Our Spiritual Lives, Jeffrey P. Zaleski says the online world "is a world of mind alone." He asks some poignant questions: How will the human spirit fare in such a realm? What effect does online learning have on the mind, the conscious, and spiritual realization? Does cyberspace present a particular challenge to spiritual work? (Zaleski 1997, p. 6). These are the same questions that leaders from most religious institutions have as they consider the opportunities and challenges associated in using distance learning models and technologies.
