This is a four-part Lesson where Student(s) will explore how Jesus (Yahshua) and His Twelve Disciples (Talmidim) lived, traveled, taught and ministered throughout 1st Century Judea, Galilee and Jerusalem. The first part of this unique Lesson allows Students to use critical thinking skills by adapting history with Bible stories and miracle events with vehicles that would be able to transport Yahshua and the 12 from town to town, in the 21st Century, preaching the Good News. The second part examines their daily rhythms—how they ate, slept, traveled and were supported—while connecting these practices to the broader mission of the Kingdom of God (Hashamahim YHVH). This precept clearly points to the reality that every youth will carry, regardless of one’s culture and society, and will, to a large extent, be determined by the type and quality of their education.
 
Understanding the Talmidim’s traveling lifestyle helps Students see Yahshua within His Jewish historical context. It further helps to recognize the sacrificial, communal and relational nature of discipleship. Appreciating how hospitality, generosity and shared resources shaped early ministry will assist in connecting Biblical narratives to real-world cultural practices. The reading and activity syllabus will develop empathy and insight into ancient life and faith, strengthening Biblical literacy, historical awareness, critical thinking and and spiritual formation.
