This is a five-part Lesson wherein Student(s) will discover how Sabbath (Saturday, Seventh Day) and Sunday (The Lord’s Day) worship developed from the time of Jesus / Yahshua (30 A.D.) through the early Church (400 A.D.), and how modern Bible believing traditions interpret these practices. The Lesson compares Biblical texts, historical events and theological perspectives from Judaism, Catholicism, Orthodoxy, Protestantism, Adventism and Hebrew Roots. Students will analyze primary themes, evaluate differing interpretations and reflect on how sacred time shapes religious identity. This Lesson is designed to help understand what it takes to be aware of the world around us, and what grounds us while in this world.
 
This Lesson could be an eye opener for parents, guardians and Students by exploring how different belief systems choose their day of rest and worship. The educational goal is to have Students gain an understanding of Sabbath and Sunday worship by providing insight into how early Christians navigated continuity and change with Judaism and how theological ideas develop over time in different groups. It is focusing on how traditions interpret Scripture differently, especially when referring to how sacred time functions as a covenant sign, an identity marker and yearly communal practices. This Lesson strengthens Students’ ability to compare sources, evaluate historical claims and articulate theological differences with clarity with respect to all religions and belief systems.
