This is a two-part Lesson wherein Student(s) will follow an interactive word study exploring twelve Hebrew words/short phrases that shape Biblical spirituality and practice: Love (Chav, Racham); Rest (Shabbat); Heart (Lev/Levav); Worship (Shachah); Curse (Arar); Pure/Refine (Tsaraph); Thirst/Longing (Yisemah / Tsame); Understanding (Lev/Levav); Turn/Change (Hafak); For His Purpose (Lema’anehu / Lama’anehu); Trust/Hope in YAH (Yachal); Enlarge My Heart (Tarchiv Libi); and the proverb This Too Shall Pass (Gam Zah Yavur). The lesson combines brief lexical notes, short Scripture references, guided reflection, and paired activities so students learn the meaning, Biblical usage and practical application of each word. The Hebrew word Lesson emphasizes how Hebrew vocabulary integrates intellect and devotion—how words for thought, feeling and action, all overlap in Biblical Hebrew—and invites students to apply these terms in prayer, pastoral care and personal formation. This precept of knowing what these words really mean when applied to our walk as Believers, clearly points to the reality that every youth will carry, regardless of one’s culture and society, and will, to a large extent, be determined by the type and quality of their education.
Students will come to understand how to approach a storehouse of words and short phrases that promote the following much deeper. To restore the centrality of the heart by showing the Hebrew Biblical language as treating the heart (lev) as the seat of thought, will and feeling. Understanding this reshapes discipleship from behavior modification to inner transformation. To bridge language and life by learning key Hebrew terms giving Students fresh theological categories that deepen preaching, prayer and pastoral care. To equip for pastoral and devotional practice, short memorable Hebrew phrases as study tools for consolation, useful information and perspective. By combining lexical study with reflection and practice helps Students internalize concepts and translate them into spiritual habits.
